What makes a “system” window different from an ordinary aluminium window?
A system window is designed as one complete package: the profile, the gaskets and the hardware are developed to work together and tested as a unit. An ordinary window is often put together from mixed parts, so its quality depends heavily on who assembles it. With a system, the result is more consistent in air tightness, water resistance and strength, whatever the weather.
Why choose aluminium over uPVC or timber?
Aluminium is strong enough to carry large panes of glass in a very slim frame, which means more light and a cleaner look. It does not rot like timber or warp in the heat like uPVC, and it handles sun, rain and humidity with very little upkeep. With a thermal break in the profile, it also insulates well.
Should I go for a casement or an awning window?
It depends on what the room needs most:
- Casement is the better pick for airflow and a clear view. The sash opens wide and works well in living rooms and kitchens.
- Awning is the better pick for privacy and rainy days. The sash acts like a small roof over the opening, so you can keep it open in light rain. It suits bathrooms and high wall positions.
Do these windows help with outside noise?
Yes. Multi-chamber profiles, soft EPDM seals and the right glass combination (such as laminated or mixed-thickness panes) all cut down the sound that gets through. If your home is near a busy road or a railway, tell us when you ask for a quote and we will suggest a noise-reducing glass and seal setup.
